Faramarz Qaribian to be honored at Hafez Awards

Iranian actor Faramarz Qaribian is to be honored at Hafez Awards in Iran.

Iranian veteran actor Faramarz Qaribian has been slated to be honored at the 2020 Hafez Awards in Iran.

Star in ‘Lean on the Wind’ will be cherished for his over half of centaury artistic endeavors with a lifetime achievement award at the 20th edition of the Iranian award ceremony.

 Born in 1941, Qaribian started off his artistic career as an assistant director and actor in 1968. He, then, got his first role in Masoud Kimiaee’s ‘Soil’. But, it was with the movie ‘The Deer’ that he gained nation-wide fame.

ifilmers have seen him in a number of series and movies, including ‘Day of Envy’, ‘Senator’, ‘I Want to Stay Alive’ and ‘Alzheimer’.

He bid adieu to acting last Persian year. His last role was in Ebrahim Hatamikia’s much applauded ‘Exodus’.

The Hafez Awards is an annual awarding ceremony which is held to honor cinematic achievements in Iranian cinema.

The awards, first presented in 1997, are catered by the Persian cinematic monthly Donya-ye Tasvir (Picture World Magazine).

This year’s edition of the event will be held online over the coronavirus pandemic.
